چکیده

When considering tumours of the parapharyngeal space, surgeons are presented with a difficult decision regarding surgical approach balancing cosmetically acceptable outcome clear resection margins. With careful patient selection and preoperative evaluation, it is possible to obtain both desired outcomes through an endoscopic assisted transoral (EATA). This does not require any new expensive equipment utilises existing ENT infrastructure decreasing operating cost morbidity reproducible learning curve. Case overview: An 83-year-old gentleman multiple comorbidities presents left-sided space tumour progressive enlargement over past eight months. was excised using two-man (EATA) subsequent cavity also repaired trans-orally. Endoscopy-assisted transoral resection of large benign parapharyngeal space tumors.

We have evaluated the outcomes of endoscopically-assisted resection of large benign tumours of the parapharyngeal space by an intraoral approach. Six patients with primary benign tumours were treated in this way. The lesions were pleomorphic adenomas, Warthin's tumour, and schwannoma. The sizes of the tumours varied from 4×4 cm to 7×7 cm. All tumours were removed completely without rupture and ...
